# Portal overview

> **Controlled preview:** The affiliate portal is not generally available in production. A shop can reach it only when the master rollout switch, tenant allowlist, and at least one authentication-method allowlist all enable that shop. Do not promise portal access until Wand confirms the shop-specific rollout and completes the required browser/UAT evidence.

## What it does

The **affiliate portal** is the storefront-hosted area where your affiliates log in to get their link and coupon, track earnings, message you, and request payouts. It runs on your store domain via the Shopify App Proxy (typically under `/apps/affiliate/...`), so it feels native to your brand.

## Portal pages

| **Links & coupons** | Copy their link and code; build custom deep links and UTM-tagged links |
| **Referrals**       | See every order attributed to them, filter by status/date              |
| **Payouts**         | See pending vs paid earnings; request a payout (if enabled)            |
| **Network**         | (MLM) recruit sub-affiliates and see their downline                    |
| **Messages**        | Chat with you (the merchant), attach files                             |
| **Tickets**         | Raise support tickets (in the Help drawer)                             |
| **Settings**        | Update profile, set a password/MFA, set up payout account, tax info    |
| **Leaderboard**     | See how they rank against other affiliates (if enabled)                |
| **Guide**           | A program handbook — how commissions work and sharing tips             |

Some pages (Network, Messages, Leaderboard) only appear when you've enabled the corresponding feature.

## Access & branding

* Affiliates reach the portal via your program's **portal login URL**.
* The portal is titled "Wand Referrals" and follows your branding settings (logo, colors, social links — see [Settings overview](https://github.com/wand-referrals-app/wand-referrals/tree/codex/gitbook-docs-foundation/docs/manual/settings/settings-overview/README.md)).
* On qualifying plans you can serve the portal on a **custom domain**.

## What affiliates can and can't do

The portal is a separate, isolated authentication surface: affiliates cannot see your customers or shop-wide settings, and ordinary portal pages show only their own records. When MLM is enabled, the **Network** page is an intentional exception: an upline affiliate can see level-1 and level-2 recruits' name/email identity, status, joined date, sales, and commission totals. The optional Leaderboard can also show relative affiliate rankings. Enable these features only when that visibility matches your program terms and privacy notice.
