# Manage affiliates

## What it does

The **Affiliates** page is where you review, approve, organize, and retire the partners who refer sales. From here you can search and filter, change statuses, move affiliates between programs, export a CSV, and archive/restore.

## Affiliate statuses

Affiliates you manage day-to-day are in one of these states:

| State                   | Meaning                                 |
| ----------------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| **Pending**             | Registered, awaiting your review        |
| **Active**              | Approved and earning                    |
| **Rejected / Archived** | Not approved, or retired (soft-deleted) |

> The data model also contains an `APPROVED` value that behaves the same as **Active**; the admin UI works in terms of **Pending / Active / Rejected (Archived)**.

## Filter tabs

The list has filter pills with live counts: **All**, **Active**, **Inactive**, and **Archive**.

## Change a single affiliate's status

* From the list or an affiliate's detail page, set the status (Activate / Deactivate / Reject).
* When an affiliate becomes **Active**, Wand Referrals auto-generates their discount code if missing and syncs it to Shopify.

## Bulk actions

Select multiple affiliates to run a bulk action from the selection bar ("N selected"):

* **Activate selected** / **Deactivate selected**
* **Archive selected** (an affiliate must be inactive before it can be archived)
* **Move to program** / **Remove from program**

## Archive, recycle bin & anonymization

Ordinary merchant archiving is a soft delete:

* Archiving sets a deletion timestamp, marks the affiliate rejected, and clears its synced discount code.
* Archived affiliates go to the **Archive** tab (the recycle bin) for **30 days**, showing days left.
* **Restore** returns them to Pending within that window.
* After 30 days, personal data is **anonymized** (e.g. the email becomes an `archived_…@deleted.local` placeholder) while required financial and agreement evidence is retained.
* A verified privacy-erasure flow may hard-delete an affiliate only when no financial, payout, tax, gift, or agreement evidence must be retained.

## Export

Use **Export CSV** on the Affiliates page to download your affiliate list.
