# Quick-start checklist

Use this checklist to go from install to your first tracked sale.

## 1. Finish onboarding

Complete the [first-run onboarding](https://github.com/wand-referrals-app/wand-referrals/tree/codex/gitbook-docs-foundation/docs/manual/getting-started/install-and-onboard/README.md) — brand intro, program settings, and payout method.

## 2. Choose a plan

Pick a billing tier on the **Plan** page. The Free tier covers core tracking; paid tiers unlock advanced commissioning, payouts, integrations, and the API. See [Billing plans](https://github.com/wand-referrals-app/wand-referrals/tree/codex/gitbook-docs-foundation/docs/manual/account/billing-plans/README.md).

## 3. Set up your first program

Create or edit your default program: commission type & rate, cookie window, approval behavior, and coupon/discount settings. See [Creating a program](https://github.com/wand-referrals-app/wand-referrals/tree/codex/gitbook-docs-foundation/docs/manual/programs/creating-a-program/README.md).

## 4. Bring your affiliates

* Starting fresh? [Add affiliates](https://github.com/wand-referrals-app/wand-referrals/tree/codex/gitbook-docs-foundation/docs/manual/affiliates/recruiting-affiliates/README.md), invite customers, or share your registration page.

## 5. Confirm tracking works

Approve a test affiliate, click their link and/or use their coupon on a test order, and check the sale appears under **Referrals & Sales** with the right [attribution](https://github.com/wand-referrals-app/wand-referrals/tree/codex/gitbook-docs-foundation/docs/manual/attribution/how-attribution-works/README.md).

## 6. Configure payouts & tax

Set your [payout methods and thresholds](https://github.com/wand-referrals-app/wand-referrals/tree/codex/gitbook-docs-foundation/docs/manual/payouts/thresholds-and-auto-payout/README.md), and if you pay US affiliates, set up [tax forms and withholding](https://github.com/wand-referrals-app/wand-referrals/tree/codex/gitbook-docs-foundation/docs/manual/payouts/tax-forms/README.md).

## 7. Connect your tools (optional)

Wire up [integrations](https://github.com/wand-referrals-app/wand-referrals/tree/codex/gitbook-docs-foundation/docs/manual/integrations/overview/README.md) — email/CRM (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, …), outbound webhooks, or the [public API](https://github.com/wand-referrals-app/wand-referrals/tree/codex/gitbook-docs-foundation/docs/manual/integrations/public-api/README.md).
