# Review referrals and sales

## What it does

**Referrals & sales** lists every order Wand Referrals attributed to an affiliate. From here you review commissions, understand *why* an affiliate got credit, approve or deny referrals, and audit refunds and reversals. Money is always shown as the computed commission and the base it came from.

## The list

Four KPI cards summarize the current filters: **Total referrals**, **Eligible**, **Denied / ineligible**, and **Commission (filtered)**.

Status tabs let you narrow quickly:

| Tab                   | Includes                        |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------- |
| **All**               | Every referral                  |
| **Pending**           | Awaiting your review            |
| **Approved**          | Eligible, commission owed       |
| **Denied**            | Rejected, nothing owed          |
| **Paid**              | Already paid out                |
| **Reversed/Refunded** | Refunded, canceled, or reversed |

Filter further by search (order name/ID or affiliate email), tracking method, affiliate, status, eligibility (All / Eligible / Ineligible / Blocked), and a date range. **Export CSV** downloads the filtered records.

The **Sales records** table shows Order, Date, Customer, Affiliate, Tracking, Commission (`$amount` of `$base`), Status, and Actions. Ineligible rows show the restriction reason (e.g. "Self-referral").

## Approve, deny, or reopen a referral

Referral status only changes through reviewed transitions, and the actions available depend on the current status:

* **Approve referral** — Pending → Approved.
* **Deny referral** — Pending → Rejected (you can add an optional reason).
* **Reopen denied referral** — Rejected → Pending.

You can act from the row's icon buttons or from the sale's detail page. Reviewing requires the **Referrals: review** permission, and every change is written to the audit log. Approving a referral also notifies the affiliate.

## The sale detail page & decision trace

Open any sale to see the full picture:

* **Commission breakdown** — the rate applied, the commission item, and the total commission.
* **Order totals** — subtotal, discount, shipping, tax, total (the commission base), and total commission.
* **Affiliate**, **Customer**, and **Campaign** cards. An order with no winner shows **Unattributed**.
* **Commission history** — the human-readable **decision trace**: "Commission earned", "Commission denied (not eligible)", "Order not attributed", "Commission reversed — {reason}", "Refund logged — commission kept for the affiliate", "Auto-approved (hold period elapsed)", and merchant status changes. This is the definitive answer to "why did this affiliate get credit?" (see [How attribution works](https://github.com/wand-referrals-app/wand-referrals/tree/codex/gitbook-docs-foundation/docs/manual/attribution/how-attribution-works/README.md)).
* **Commission split by product** — for SKU-split orders, each affiliate's share.
* **Customer journey** — the pre-order page visits attributed to the affiliate, ending in "Order placed".
* A **Note** field for your own annotations.

## Refunds, reversals & clawbacks

Reversals are **automatic** — there is no manual "reverse" button. When Shopify sends a refund or cancel, the reversal engine adjusts or reverses the commission and records it. The **Refund & reversal audit trail** at the bottom of the list shows each event ("Partial refund" or "Full reversal"), amount, and notes. ## Deleting a sale

The detail page has a **Delete sale** control (confirm required, audit-logged). **Paid commissions cannot be deleted** — reverse or refund the order instead.
